I am 74 years old. I have been playing bridge since 1992. My goal was to become a life master within a few years. The first few years were spent on lessons and playing as much as I could. Life took a turn and I wanted to go back to work. Retirement at such a young age was not enough. I started a major business in interior design and a 5000 square foot showroom in Boca Raton for 12 years. At that point, I put bridge on the side lines. After those years I was ready to come back to bridge.
I wasn’t able to travel to the sectionals, so my dream of becoming a life master was not going to be easy to achieve. Local tournaments were few and far away.
Because of the corona virus, ACBL and Bridge Base came up with this amazing concept. Playing Red, Silver and Gold Tournaments. For the first time I saw a light at the end of the tunnel. Over the past few months I have started playing in these tournaments and this month finally achieved NABC Master.
I am extremely excited for bridge players like myself to have the opportunity of a life time to finally achieve their goals and be able to become Life Master.
Thank you ACBL and Bridge Base
